Constructive criticism is always welcomed but here I am with my take on it as well. So this is a DARK comedy, where the writers show an alternate way of the world where any law or rule is hardly ever followed and everything is fair. Vin is an anti hero, his method of justice +
isn't by law but rather by revenge. But saying him and Hanseok (or any other "devil" character from the drama as a matter of fact) are on the same level feels extremely unfair to me. I believe we're definitely allowed to support him, or even romanticize his character cause it's+
FICTION and we're not sitting in a freaking courtroom. But also my reason is that he isn't THE DEVIL, which I'll come back to later. From ep18 we can see that he entered the Mafia in the first place to get revenge for his foster parents, and I think in that atmosphere for him+
justice through law wasn't accessible and this just seemed easier. Then I believe all the people that he killed were just leading him to the main murderer as we see his trauma get linked to his mother's memories in those nightmares. And finally when he reached the main killer,+
it hit him hard cause he realized that he too was a parent and Vin saw himself in that kid in the car. I think he was also holding a cigarette at that time so prolly he quit smoking due to that. After this I think he stopped the murder spree and just acted as the consigliere to+
his Father. Then he came back to Korea just for the gold without the intention of harming anyone. But his "revenge" instinct got initiated again when Mr. Hong was brutally murdered. Here Chayoung joins him because her father's death hit her hard as well. Now on their way to+
revenge they take lives but let me say that these are people who are DIRECTLY related to the murder of Mr. Hong, Ms. Oh and the family members of Babel's victims, no one else. Now the concern about why Chayoung isn't given a break or justification. I think it's not necessarily +
true that we haven't seen her pov. It's more like her goal of justice is what has driven her all along and kept her strong. She is definitely shocked by Vin's course of action but she knows being a lawyer herself that justice can't be obtained by law in this dark world. Now+
we've known since day 1 that Vincenzo is what they call THE MAIN CHARACTER and I could definitely be wrong but I think Chayoung had enough screen time and storyline being not the fl, but rather the second lead. Now someone may think in this way that their hands are getting+
dirtier as they kill more people BUT I THINK THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE. Let me repeat that they have killed only the DIRECT MURDERERS of those innocent people and no one else. So I believe that they're rather becoming better human beings with each passing day, both from being a+
selfish lawyer and a consigliere. Why? It's because they've started to care more about people around them which is why their plans are no more focused on revenge and limited to Babel only. But rather they wanna set everything right on a larger scale , which is something above+
the law. And I believe because they found a family in Geumga plaza tenants and the support, care and YES LOVE in each other, they became a better version of themselves over time. Now why Vin isn't THE DEVIL. The theory from @chacenzo The devil on one hand rn is not just Hanseok+
but a whole group of corrupted people who are at power. So the devil on the other side can only be the guillotine file, not Vin, required to take them down. That file is a devil itself cause it was created for blackmail purpose, and only this can destroy the bigger devil on the+
other side. One of the best analysis I've seen yet. And thus I wanna conclude that Vincenzo as a kdrama is just PERFECT. I'm still rooting for Vincenzo cause to me, he served justice by any means and that's how it works in this dark world. And why Chayoung supports him, cause+
they're doing it for a bigger cause now to eliminate the devil, who's above law, forever. My only concern is that they should give us more ChaCenzo moments in the next episode otherwise it would feel incomplete that's it. K bye. I love this show.
