Heard about the @Nestrelol situation (supposedly used stolen credit cards to buy bits to donate).

This situation sucks for everyone involved.

I guess, thread time (1/n)
First and foremost, I found out today listening to a stream, so it's likely y'all know more about the evidence than I do, but I'll try to write this thread from a neutral viewpoint.
First, to the affected streamers: short-term it sucks really bad and it sucks you all have to go through it.
For the streamers I support that are affected, I'll see what I can do to help (many of you I've already hit up on Twitter or Discord) to see if you were affected.
To the streamers, this represents a loss of income, and in some cases a sizable one. It particularly hurts those who've planned purchases and stuff based on it.
To the community, if true, it's a betrayal of trust. This is a good, but painful, example of why those you value in life, or in a Twitch stream, should not be based on what they spend, but rather what they add/bring to your life.

memories > money

True friends add value beyond $
And finally, using stolen credit cards to buy bits/subs (or telling your CC provider they are stolen) is fraud, and interstate fraud at that. Which falls into the FBI jurisdiction. It's a major crime.

Fraud is not a joke. It's a crime.
The FBI can and will find you if you try something like this. They have virtually unlimited resources (superior money, manpower, technology, intelligence) to whatever you have.
Crime doesn't pay, and 60 seconds of a streamer's appreciation for (unknowingly) stolen money is not worth it.

Don't spend money on Twitch you cannot afford.

I'll end this thread on that.
