#NJ #COVID19 Case update for 4/26, and its a doozy.

For those who don& #39;t know, at today& #39;s press conference, the state nonchalantly deleted 10,440 cases. Of course, everyone in the press in the room ignored it, and Lifshitz essentially read out a statement on what happened.

The state claims that deletions of duplicates were a manual process and they just, for the first time, automated the process. This automation picked up 10,440 cases that required deletion that the @NJDeptofHealth missed for months. I dispute that claim, and here is why:

First, the case update for today:

Reported: 1247
Additions: 1069
Deletions: 10,265
Net: -9,196
DoD Change: -9,195

778 of the cases are from IO in the last 7 days. The other 291 are from older dates.

Recall back in the middle of Mar I started flagging an increase of cases being dumped that were showing up from October through February, and being called new. After screaming it from the rooftops for months, @ActualAlexZ finally questioned the state.

The state responded, stating that the cases were "newly tested", but in many cases, they were determined to be "old illnesses". At that point, in typical fashion, those trying to uncover the facts got called & #39;conspiracy theorists& #39;, including some well respected journalists.

/5
This is an important distinction, because these arent newly ill people, but are being characterized to the CDC as "new". In addition, the data is consistently being used to keep schools shut and LTC visits closed, as these dumped cases go into NJ& #39;s CALI metric for opening

/6
Since March 21st, these are when all of these "old illnesses/new cases" were added. As you can see, the state dumped A LOT of cases from September 15th through March 1st. These totaled ~8,000 cases.

How can cases from Sept reported as new today be from a 12 week tail anyway?

/7
Today, where did all of the deletions came from? You guessed it, exactly from the pot of cases that I& #39;ve been calling out since Mid-March, essentially undoing all the dumped cases that I& #39;ve been yelling about for months.

/8
And no, these weren& #39;t case deletions, like we were told, because they also deleted 402 hospitalizations from the total, so someone isnt being honest with the public.

The problem is, not a single person that has visibility to this administration will call them on it.
