But now as IPL players pull out by the minute, the BCCI are trying to normalise it. "Personal Reasons" is the latest twisted truth

Players have been warned off critising India's COVID situation. Future IPL contacts are at risk. This is economic blackmail and speaks volumes of the morality of India's leaders.

Modi can have massive super spreader rallies, then launch the ironically named MODI CARES fund because his government can't afford to fix a mess they created, but cricketers can't talk about it. Modi is even asking Twitter to remove negative tweets about his Covid management.

Meanwhile, the BCCI's latest propoganda play is to get everyone to say that the IPL is providing "a few hours of relief" every night.

Tell that to the old women gasping for breath or to those working the funeral pyres.

This narcassistic self importance to protect cash inflows being paid by a Chinese phone brand, whom ironically, the whole country hated a year ago blows my mind for the fuckheadedry of it all.

By having players support this message and turn it into today's "internal matter", the BCCI is holding players to ransom all for money and false prestige. This is in turn putting player's lives at risk.

This is fucking absurd and needs to stop.

The IPL is helping noone but the BCCI by continuing to play while a war against the worst virus we've ever seen ravages India.

I guarantee Pat Cummin's tweet wasn't done in isolation. He would have been asked to make a statement. The language used reeks of the propoganda lines that the IPL is selling and narrow minded people are buying

If you need a cricket tournament to get through your day then it's time you self reflect.
