According to @onccnews, there were visible defects 2 days after the music fountains was opened including broken & wobbly tiles and malfunction spouts. Some tiles have been stuck together with duct tape

Comedian Wong Kar-wai #東方昇, from online news & entertainment platform @100most_hk, was streaming himself washing at the fountains live on 25/Apr (while children at site playing happily with him), but it’s clear that he only used limited amount of soap

Netizens started posting on social media saying the government’s claim is ridiculous as the rest of the worlds does not shut down fountains despite substantial amount of foam, and criticised once again the fountains are a white elephant project

@appledaily_hk reported that some construction companies in🇨🇳quoted ~HK$780k for the construction of the same fountains

The paper also quoted experienced civil engineer & construction project contractor that the Kwun Tong music fountains are extremely expensive and materials used does not seem to be of high quality
