I know this is an F1 account, but at times, we have to pay our respects to events that took place outside of sport. 35 years ago today, the worst ever peacetime nuclear disaster took place, after a safety check of all things resulted in a horrific explosion. Part 1 of Thread.
Firefighters went in to stoke the flames without knowing they ran straight into the reactor core. Scores were killed as a result and whole cities were displaced while the area will be uninhabitable for over 20,000 years. On that fateful day, humans left yet another scar on earth.
I could go on... but I'll end this thread here. Never forget what could happen, if we don't hold our leaders to account, what negligence and carelessness may creep in, and what tragedies may befall us. Never let those lost lives be wasted.
