@ALLIANCELGB if you want to get thoroughly creeped out, read this - CT’s response to 2018 GRA reform consultation. Pure self-ID is no threat to women, single-sex exemptions wouldn’t have any negative impact from GRA reform. Most mind-blowing to me - spousal consent provisions 1/7
should be removed because ‘Stonewall says 28% of trans people in relationships suffer abuse’ so clearly that abuse is coming from resentful heterosexual spouses, what the fuck? - https://chwaraeteg.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Consultation-Response-Reforms-Gender-Recognition-Act-Oct-2018.pdf. And there’s more... 2/7
While badging itself as a women’s charity, CT’s vision statement blurb is ALL about gender equality / inequality in the workplace, including the role CT played in getting that GRA reform response to be the cornerstone of Welsh Govt policy on ‘gender reform’ going forward. 3/7
The real paydirt is in their annual accounts. CT are currently funded almost wholly through ESF, which will end in a couple of years. How to make good on that fatal shortfall? Hey, why not take a leaf out of the Stonewall cash-in book? 4/7
CT’s business model going forward will be to work as a commercial company offering all Welsh employers the chance to buy ‘support’ services to make the changes needed to tackle ‘gender inequality’, & thus secure CT’s ‘benchmark’ (3 tiers) as an ‘employer of choice’. 5/7
Remind you of any other charity’s cunning wheeze to get over lack of funds, by reinventing itself as both judge of employers’ fitness as ‘equality champions’- and provider (for a fee) of the support to make those essential changes beneficial to all - gender neutral loos, etc. 6/7
