First day as psychological workforce lead at @MaudsleyNHS. My role will focus on the development of the qualified psychology and psychotherapy workforce, whilst my colleague will be attending to the needs of those earlier in their career e.g., aspiring psychologists (1/5)
I'll ‘sit’ within the Corporate P&P department, which has three arms: staff support, data analysis and workforce development. Broadly, my role will be looking at supporting the psychological workforce to better meet the needs of our clients, colleagues and communities (2/5)
It will involve balancing several projects e.g., CPD and training strategy, recruitment, progression, creating a diverse & inclusive workforce that better represents the communities we serve and much more (3/5)
For example, I’ll be working with our psychology and psychotherapy diversity forum to hold a short event with clinicians to explore what a reflective space centering anti-racism and anti-oppressive practice would look like, with the aim of implementation (4/5)
A big part of the role will involve learning from others and keeping all stakeholders updated through social media and other ways, so hopefully you’ll hear from me a bit more. For anyone interested in keeping connected and informed about developments, do follow me (5/5)
