Dear Education leaders,
If there is ONE student who feels unsafe in your school/classroom, then it is NOT a SAFE learning environment. Esp. if that child is the ONLY Black or Indigenous child in your classroom! Their opinions are enough!!

Pls stop measuring the "safety" of those spaces based on your effort or your kindness or the opinions of the majority of the students or your own ethnicity or how racially diverse your class/ school is. CENTRE & respond 2 the voices who are being oppressed and calling for help!
When you make proud declarations about how safe and inclusive your schools/ classrooms are, you are DROWNING OUT the voices of those who are wounded by the oppressive cultures which you are protecting.

When you do this, you are selfishly choosing your own comfort and safety while forcing our CHILDREN to be brave and resilient. I have no respect for that. NONE.
