The V/ltr/n IG seems more active because as vaccinations are starting to get out and supply chains are normalizing, the folk that run the official store have product to move again, and are promoting that. If you look, the content and merch is primarily based on 80s versions.

I seriously doubt there is any there there beyond trying to get the store running profitably again.

The "news" site, which I refuse to link, has an article for pretty much every reasonably popular cancelled/ended Netflix show you can think of, promising a new season coming within the next couple of years.

There's most likely no season 9. The site is clickbait articles to get you for advertising dollars.
IF anything is coming, we'd likely hear other hints from specific-subject-matter-focused rumor mills first.
