I've been back at work on a full time basis for 6 weeks today. It's been brilliant concentrating on things other than my cancer diagnosis & health. I've also found myself reflecting often on all I've been through since Sept & what this can teach me about work & life in general:
1) Make sure you have the right team around you.
Allow their input and expertise. You cannot do it all.

2) Be proactive in progressing what is in your control. Do not be a passive recipient of all life throws at you.
Prioritise what is important. Let go of blame and shame.

3) Don't sweat the small stuff.
Keep all things in perspective.

4) Consider how you want to be remembered.
What legacy do you want to leave?

5) Understand the risks, acknowledge the challenges, but don't let these paralyse you or stifle your ambitions or full potential.
6) It is only in facing your fears and stepping out of the comfortable that you will truly develop and grow.
7) Remember that nothing lasts forever. Troubles are temporary.
8) Make time to rest.
Use your leave, take your break.
Your body and your mind will thank you for it.

9) Things happen to people, but shouldn't define them.
