The Adventure Badges are my attempt to reimagine the #PhysEd Responsibility Badges that I share with all of you over ten years ago.
I wanted to make something more modern and that involved a whole lot less headache for all of you! https://twitter.com/phys_educator/status/1383377686601428993?s=20

Each Adventure Badge is assigned to one of three categories. Each category looks at its badges through a specific lens:
Emotional Badges ( #SEL)
Responsibility Badges (Personal & Social Responsibility)
Learner Badges (Habits of Successful Learners)

Also, each badge has its own rarity rating which is indicated by the colour of its outer ring. The three rarity levels are:
Common (White Ring)
Uncommon (Silver Ring)
Rare (Gold Ring)
The badges' rarity can affect how students "level up" in the game.

As students unlock new badges, these badges get added to the students' Adventure Badges Profile.
The profile is a Google Slides template that can be assigned and managed via Google Classroom.
Students can personalize their profile with their:
Profile Pic
Name
Bio

Students can personalize their profile with their:

• Right-click,
• "Replace Image",
• "Upload From Computer" and
• Select the badge to be added.

There are a few options as to how you can go about player levels:
Number of Badges (1 badge = 1 step)
Badge Points (Step costs 2 points, Common = 1 point, Uncommon = 2 point, Rare = 4 point)
Or don't use the levels at all (showcase student grade-level instead)

However you choose to go about it, updating a student's Player Level is also super easy.
The graphics are all pre-made and labeled for you, all you have to do is use the same "Replace Image" trick to do the update.

I also created a Google Slides-based Social Celebration Graphic template to make it incredibly easy for anyone to create an awesome graphic that can be shared:
In your Google Classroom Stream
In a parent email
At school assemblies
On social media
However you like!

Here's how quick/easy it is to make this graphic using the included Google Slides template.
Once it's created, just choose "Download" and then select either "JPEG image" or "PNG image"

What I'm most excited about is seeing how the Adventure Badges grow and evolve over time! I'm starting a Community Newsletter for those who join in. In it, I'll be sharing:
Adventure Badges Booster Packs (new badges)
Opportunities to contribute badge ideas
New features
