BREAKING: U.K. applies Magnitsky sanctions to 14 Russians who were involved in the corruption that Sergei Magnitsky exposed and was killed over. These are the first U.K. Magnitsky sanctions using the new anti corruption tool which was unveiled by U.K. Foreign Secretary Raab today

The list includes Dmitry Klyuev, head of the Klyuev Organized Crimes Group, who was the mastermind of the $230m fraud that Sergei Magnitsky exposed. It also includes Klyuev’s consigliere Andrei Pavlov, who organized the whole fraud.

The new U.K. Magnitsky list also includes Artem Kuznetsov and Pavel Karpov, the corrupt Russian police officers who seized the documents used in the fraud and who were involved in Sergei Magnitsky’s false arrest and trumped up criminal case against him.

This battle for justice for Sergei Magnitsky has been long and hard, but today the U.K. Government recognized the terrible injustice inflicted on Sergei and his family and gave them a measure of redress with these sanctions.

Now the U.K. Magnitsky Act needs to be used against the dictators and kleptocrats from China, Venezuela, Saudi Arabia, Belarus and many other places where the corrupt leaders commit their atrocities at home and stash their dirty money here.
