Can we talk about how to treat your drivers when we get back on the road?

1. Be on time - If you're late, everyone in the car is late. Drivers work out timings so if they tell you what time to meet, thats based on when they plan to arrive at the show. Be there on time.
2. Don't expect to get picked up and dropped off at your door. Find your nearest motorway exit and a good place close by to meet. Yes you're only ten minutes off the exit, but that's 20 minutes for the driver to get back on their route. Be considerate. They want to get home too.
3. Travel light. If you plan to show up with a huge hard case and a box of merch, check if that's going to work before hand. Noone wants your shit on their lap.
4. If you want to sleep, it's probably fine but ask first. If your driver is tired and you fall asleep, it's kinda rude and if it's just two of you, potentially dangerous. Make sure the driver is alert or there's a passenger that is before you sleep.
5. Take your shit with you. Again, it's usually fine if you want to eat in the car, but ask first, don't stink up the car and don't leave your trash and coffee cups when you get out. You shouldn't need to be told this.
6. Be a good passenger. If someone is driving you for several hours, they're doing you a favour. Yeah, they should get their fuel covered but they pay to keep that car running and driving is boring and tiring. Don't stare at your phone the whole time, put in headphones or...
... just have a two way conversation with your friend. Talk, buy them a coffee, be a decent human. People remember good passengers and bad passengers.
