I don't have a problem with Bill Gates having an opinion on patents. I just don't think it should count for more than any other person's opinion.
Until random people in India are allowed to decide the features of Microsoft products, I don't want random co-founders of Microsoft deciding how those Indians can be vaccinated.
Unless I missed an election result in my weekend nap, Bill Gates has the same level of legitimacy to make decisions about public vaccination campaigns as you and I have to reside in his house.
If I were to roll up to his home right now, I imagine there's some kind of gate.

Well, when he wants to leave that home and come out into the commons and richsplain public policy in a crisis, we should operate a gate of our own.
