Today’s #Pulspective is an attempt to see how Global media, as represented by @nytimes @Reuters @TheEconomist @guardian or for that matter @WaPo reported deaths in US and UK; do compare it to their reporting of Indian deaths.
Check how US media reported burial of NY victims of Covid19. Do notice how media talked about orderly & efficient burial process; it even tried to reason how burial footage wasn’t extraordinary! Some samples from @nytimes & @Reuters but @WaPo was no different either #Pulspective
#Pulspective : media in UK was no different either and they too never tried to sensationalise deaths nor carried any visuals of grieving relatives on the front pages of @guardian or @TheEconomist or primetime on @BBC!
#Pulspective : Evidently, global reporting of corona virus deaths in US and UK was sensitive and focused on showing human side of the loss. Matching respect and dignity was not accorded to Indian victims by the global media-houses; it was all motivated & meant to sensationalise!
#Pulspective : what is bizarre is that even today India ranks 102nd in terms of COVID-19 fatalities per million in the world with both US and UK ranked way above it!

How justified it is to proclaim: India is collapsing then?
