Interested in doing patent litigation but don& #39;t have a technical degree?

I co-authored this @BLaw article explaining why generalists are well positioned to litigate patent cases—and why junior litigators in particular should consider patent work. 1/ https://news.bloomberglaw.com/us-law-week/patent-litigation-is-not-just-for-scientists">https://news.bloomberglaw.com/us-law-we...
First, the ongoing debate about patent-bar eligibility requirements and their potential exclusionary effect on the profession doesn& #39;t extend to patent litigation, for which no technical degree is needed. 2/
Generalist lawyers bring an important mindset to patent cases: an ability to understand technical concepts from a lay perspective.

Why is that important? Because the vast majority of decision-makers in these cases—judges and juries—don& #39;t have technical backgrounds either. 3/
And many aspects of patent cases have nothing to do with technology anyway. 4/
There& #39;s also an extra incentive for junior lawyers to do patent cases: many of the regular patent venues have rules or practices encouraging stand-up opportunities for junior members of our profession: 5/
Bottom line, a patent litigation team benefits from a diversity of backgrounds, including those without formal technical degrees. /fin
