uhhhhh... i was today years old when i learned about AAVE/BVE
to be honest i got a VERY complicated feeling about this

like, im fully aware that deliberately using certain kinds of dialects just to make yourself sound "cool" (which, even as a L2 English user, i can often tell) is stupid, but most of the time i just see people using these words in their casual and friendly speeches...
...and guess what, without further context, i'd automatically assume they are common slangs, bc that's how language acquisition works

"why DOn'T YoU JUST chECK WHo'S USINg thEsE WoRds tHen

"
well bc it's on twitter and i can't always tell the ethnicity of the accounts that appears on my screen??? besides why would i wanna check people's ethnicity FIRST when i read their posts???

(ughhh im really bad at writing long posts) what im trying to say is, as much as i wanna avoid offending people on their race/culture/etc. (and i make an effort for it), there may still be times i misuse words *without even knowing* and *having no way to tell that beforehand*,
and i believe many non native English speakers face similar situations like i do.
so i have to humbly ask whoever sees this thread, if you believe that i or someone else is using certain expressions inappropriately, please try talking to me/them politely first!
