đź—Łđź—Łhead coaches and sport supervisors I need you to listen...

In person recruiting is going to start again soon. Do not wear your assistants out like an indentured servant. Don’t have them in the road 40 days in a row. Don’t do that.
I need you to center their mental health and yours. Set boundaries and be honest with recruits about them. It is so easy to get back to the grind grind because you feel like you are behind. Babeeee everyone with you. Ain’t no one ahead.
Everyone was a cluster fuck for a year and a half. Literally everyone. You will feel the urgency to have to be everywhere and watch all the athletes.

Don’t. Do that.

How you come back from what just shook our whole life is critical. Don’t do it.
Make a game plan that sets boundaries. Make a game plan that centers mental health. Centers families. You will feel the itch and see folks posting all their recruiting graphics. Don’t. Center care. What you do also shows your athletes what is important.
The expectations of assistants to be on the road 30-40 days in a row and wear that as a badge of honor is over. Center mental health. Center boundaries.

Also don’t allow your sport supervisors to pile in expectations. Y’all we gotta come back like we do from an injury.
We all just had a life altering injury and we are still limping from it. The effects of it are still hitting us. Treat it as that. Don’t treat it as if it wasn’t anything and we can go back to “normal”. You will be doing a disservice to everyone in your programs
Take care of yourself, your assistants, your athletes, and your program.
