This product is being sold as "if you get COVID-19, you get paid."

This is NOT true! Payout requires:

(1) At least 72 hours treatment in hospital (or, makeshift hospital)
(2) +ve COVID-19 diagnosis throughout treatment (2/9)
There’s a lot of rush to buy #TermInsurance right now

Please note:
(1) It may take a new policy 3-12 months to cover death from #COVID19
(2) If you or people you’re staying with had COVID-19 upto 3 months ago, the cover may be denied (3/9)
Medical professionals: You may be denied fresh #LifeInsurance coverage

BUT, please note, you -
(1) Get free â‚č50 Lakhs life #insurance cover under Garib Kalyan Yojna (renewed recently by New India Assurance Co)
(2) Get free (up to) â‚č6 Lakhs life cover via your PF (EDLI) (4/9)
For filing an insurance claim for COVID-19:

(1) You will need a +ve COVID-19 test result for eligible claim
(2) You will need a DOCTOR'S NOTE for hospitalisation or treatment at home
(3) Treatment at a makeshift hospitals is INCLUDED
(4) Self diagnosis is NOT eligible. (5/9)
Timelines and docs for claims:

Corona Rakshak:
(1) Notify COVID-19 diagnosis within 15 days
(2) Submit docs within 30 days of discharge or death

Corona Kavach:
(1) Notify COVID-19 diagnosis within 24 hrs
(2) Submit docs within 30 days of end of hospital/home treatment. (6/9)
For COVID-19 treatment at a makeshift hospital:

(1) Makeshift centre to be treated as hospital for COVID-19 treatment
(2) Policyholder can avail of a cashless claim

This is as per an #IRDAI circular dated 16/07/20. NOTHING overrides it. (7/9)
Warning: COVID-19 treatment at home for #Mediclaim policy holders

(1) Treatment at home for Covid is NOT covered under Mediclaim plans
(2) Treatment at hospital WITHOUT doctor's advice is NOT covered (8/9)
