happy lesbian visibility day! heres a thread of blatant lesbophobia because we are constantly overlooked and spoken over ++
1. believing we are all inherently biphobic, transphobic, homophobic, aphobic, etc. while we can be one of these, none of us are inherently such and assuming so demonizes lesbians.
2. the fact that we are quite literally a porn hub tag is disgusting. wlw fetishization is awful and the goal is to LITERALLY "fix us". it is legitimately dangerous and is why i fear for myself in spaces with cis men.
3. some of u guys praise cis men for talking about lesbians more than u praise actual lesbians, so lesbians b00st urself in the replies to this n ill rt everything <3
4. believing men can be included in lesbianism, the whole idea is it is a non man who is attracted to non men. please, if you arent a lesbian stop trying to force men into our spaces. its uncomfortable

6. dont speak over lesbians or accept apologies for us. simple. if a lesbian says something they dont like then just uplift their voice, dont insert your own.
7. please dont talk on "gold star lesbianism" if you arent a lesbian. its a lesbophobic ideology and engaging in this discourse as someone who isnt a lesbian is in poor taste. gold star lesbianism is a lesbian who has never slept with a man before, and it separates people+
who experience comphet from others and divides our community. people often use this concept to villify lesbians so please just Keep ur nose out of it if ur not a lesbian
8. cishet girls who act different around u just because ur a lesbian are the worst, like implying youll fall in love w them or like every woman ever just because ur a lesbian.
9. on comphet, if a lesbian experiences comphet Mind ur business. dont be like "arent u a lesbian?" i know u have good intentions n its def not as bad as some of them on the list but it is very annoying and sorta upsetting. educate urself on comphet- a quick explanation
would be ; a lesbian who is compulsorily attracted to men due to societal standards and patriarchy. they are not genuinely attracted to men, but they feel forced to be.
10. dont just use us and our issues for likes. dont just say "lets go lesbians" and then never rt, give money to, or uplift the voices of lesbians. if you REALLY think we're cool then youll support our voices today especially. i appreciate the words but genuinely trying
to make a change is what makes a difference
11. stop treating lesbian like a dirty word and walking around eggshells when you talk about us. dont say "queer woman" if you mean a LESBIAN woman. lesbian isnt a dirty label. dont avoid it.
12. dont erase lesbians; lesbian is not equivalent to sapphic. if i say i want more lesbian friends, dont say "im [gbtq+] do i count?" or derail the conversation to be abt nonlesbians.
13. dont say cottagecore lesbians or hey mamas lesbians if ur not a lesbian; cottagecore in the first place is a very whitewashed aesthetic so stereotyping us as such is exclusive to lesbians of color, and the hey mamas thing is used to mock masc / butch lesbians

14. he/him, they/them, neopronoun user, and nonbinary lesbians are all perfectly normal !! pronouns dont equal gender and lesbianism excludes men, not nonbinary people.
