honestly? just not seeing us as people.

though not all lesbians identify as women a lot of us still navigate the world being treated like any other person assumed to be a cis woman. so it's bizarre to me that people are surprised we experience misogyny and internalized misogyny. https://twitter.com/lesbianflwr/status/1386387625473241088
like... just because men don't do it for us doesn't mean we suddenly aren't harassed or oppressed by men, or raised to center men and humanize men more than women... we are still here on the same planet as everyone else. grew up watching the same tv. raised in the same religions.
also i just wish nonlesbians would stop lowkey acting like lesbianism is akin to abstinence... lmfao god... like actually we aren't limiting or depriving ourselves of anything. we're owning being our full selves, and not forcing ourselves to do shit we don't want to do.
to be gay or lesbian isn't about 'limiting' your options and it's frustrating when it's framed that way. it's literally just saying: idc how much it's being shoved down my throat that i'm "supposed to" be into this, i'm not into it! and i'm allowed to be honest about how i feel!
honestly this thread could go on forever like not even getting into the violence we face and the fear we have to live with and all the correctional shit people aim at us but also just associating lesbianism with white women is a fucking headache because we have OUR OWN HISTORY.
like... BLACK LESBIANS HAVE THEIR OWN HISTORY across the diaspora! white women have literally nothing to do with who we are!

honestly too many things non lesbians do frustrates me so i'll just stop there. lmao.
