LET US TALK ABOUT MAZDA AXELA 😍
This car is also known as Mazda 3 in parts of Europe🇪🇺 and USA🇺🇸 and commonly known as Mazda Axela in Kenya 🇰🇪. The Mazda Axela is one of the best mid size small cars in the Kenyan market. It competes with; Audi A3, Ford Focus, VW Golf
THREAD
Subaru Impreza and Toyota Auris among others.
THE DESIGN
Mazda axela 2014 is available in both Sedan(saloon) and hatchback designs. In terms of styling and design , Mazda axela stands out. It emulates the CX5’s and Mazda 6’s MAZDA’s “Soul of Motion” technique. You can call it
a small CX5. The Mazda’s outstanding grill with the gentle curves plus crisp edges gives this car a sporty look. It looks good on the road. Very stylish, I think the sedan looks even better than the hatchback in my opinion (This is not the universal truth). Out of 10 , Mazda
Scores a full 9 in design and styling of this car.
PERFORMANCE
How does this car perform generally? Mazda Axela comes with a Skyactiv engines Both petrol and diesel from 1500cc to 2500cc. The most common ones in the Kenyan Market are the 1500cc sedan and 2.0 Diesel engine.
The 1.5Ltr petrol will give you 88Kw of power making about 150Nm of Torque with a top speed of about 188km/Hr. From this engine you get an acceleration of about 0-100km/hr in 11 seconds (Not bad ). The Diesel engine will give you 155Hp with a torque of 167Nm. The fuel economy
And consumption of mazda Axela is about 17.5km/L. Not bad for a car of its category.
The Skyactiv Technology used in this car just like in the CX5, uses a high compression with a fine tuned exhaust system provides more power while extracting maximum efficiency for every drop of
Fuel consumed. ON SAFETY, mazda Axela scores impressively. You get six airbags, traction control system, tyre pressure monitoring system, Smart City Brake support system. To crown it all, Mazda boasts of the I-Active Sense technology that includes adaptive cruise control ,
Blindspot monitoring system and headlights that switch automatically between low and high beams. The Inetrior of the Mazda Axela is nice and welcoming! It feels more expensive inside this car than most cars in this category.
COMFORT: Honestly speaking the front seats of mazda Axela are very comfortable. However the back seats feel a bit stiff and uncomfortable! Tall people may struggle finding comfort at the back.
CONCLUSION: SHOULD YOU PUT YOUR MONEY MAZDA ON MAZDA AXELA?
I will say a big YES! You can put your money on it, apart from lack of absolute comfort and a bit noisy driving, Mazda Axela is a wonderful car for its category! It comes first and second to none when put alongside its
Competitors. There is a notion in Kenya that spares of mazda axela aren’t easily available, I can confidently dispute that as a mechanical rumour that has no basis. However, owning a mazda axela comes with a little more expenditure on spares. Not out of the ordinary but its
Spares are relatively not low priced. With the acceptance of the Mazda Axela in the Kenyan Market, I can anticipate reduction in prices of its spares as many dealers have started stocking the spares. LET IT NOT BE AN ISSUE.
ON PRICE: In Kenya in Mombasa to be specific, this car will cost you from 1.45M - 1.55M depending on mileage and other additional features that the car in question may have. You can also get it by depositing from 800k and clearing the balance in 10-12 months.
