Not the first time India-US relationship has been under question.
In the mid-60s India desperately needed American wheat under the US Public Law 480 on rupee payment — and at relatively low prices because the country had no foreign exchange to buy food in the world market.
Infuriated by India's criticism of American bombings of Hanoi and Haiphong in the course of the Vietnam War, US put food shipments on such a tight leash that India literally lived from ship to mouth.
Now we come to the infamous 1971 incident.
US 7th fleet, led by the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise, entered Bay of Bengal on December, 1971.Officially to secure American citizens in Bangladesh, unofficially to threaten allied forces and prevent the liberation of Bangladesh.
Nixon’s rash move became America’s greatest PR disaster in India.
US's tilt towards Pakistan is not a secret during the cold war and the period after it.
In fact US's role in 1993 bomb blasts investigation was spooky and questionable.
US blocked the transfer of technology of cryogenic engines to India. We finally developed it indigenously in 2014.
US didn't help India with access to GPS during Kargil war. Also in 2012 US shut off it’s GPS causing the BrahMos missile tests to fail. The GPS system couldn’t link onboard computers with hovering satellites eventually crippling its guidance system.
Their indifference led India to develop its own Satellite Program called NAVIC which is India’s indigenous GPS.
