For the past one week or so, we have been reading ground reports [by @the_hindu @thenewsminute @TheQuint, @IndiaToday, local media] on how deaths reported by State bulletin don't add up with ground reality in Gujarat & other states.

On April 15 @CMOGuj said @ICMRDELHI guidelines say that if a #COVID19 patient has long-term comorbidity such as cancer or diabetes then the "primary cause" of death isn't #COVID19. He is wrong. Inputs from @ncdirindia director Dr Prashant Mathur, Chalapati Rao, author of @WHO editorial titled ‘Medical certification of cause of death for COVID-19′ and ICMR/NCIR document 'Guidance for appropriate recording of COVID-19 related deaths in India' leaves no wriggle room.

My report extensively explains how MCCD reports should be recorded during COVID/otherwise. And points MCCD by @shalbyhospitals didn't list the immediate cause of death, underlying cause of death NOR stated that the patient was COVID19 positive. @MadhviSally & family can confirm
