1/ How disgustingly entitled is it to literally *mass delete* a contact tracing app and not use it for *a whole year* because "it's a fascist data collection system for bhakts" and then be surprised about surges in a virus that has no cure and had no vaccine till two months ago?
2/ Leave aside the government for one second. YOU, the people, overwhelmingly wanted to be free by mid last year. You asked for your particular business to be open. So they let you. And poor people had no choice.

How many clusters did you start? And if that's ok for you to do..
3/ ..why are you unable to extend that to others, including politicians? When the center asked for Zoom rallies & the opp turned it down citing the unfair math, where was the outrage then? Certainly you are old enough to understand elections can't just be postponed/ignored?
4/ And if they had clamped down on any of you for anything *you* agree with-- kumbh, ramzan, restaurants, malls, transport-- you create an uproar.

If anything, maybe the government should have actually been the fascist authoritarian government you think they are.
5/ But since we wanted to have our cake and eat it too, but we *also* believe the pandemic is real and serious, but we also believe in compromises, perhaps we should have pragmatically used the contact tracing app and then worked on changing whatever we didn't like about it?
6/ Maybe the 100 tech geniuses we have in every 1km radius could have built that? Using blockchain or whatever you think is superior to what the government did? But did we do that? Despite the fact that we've had a year & there are no roadblocks to creating that or *anything*?
7/ And now you are feeling like you're doing all the work because you and your friends are creating docs and resources. It's not that the "government should be doing this". It's that only YOU could have prevented this. Which government or hospital can handle such a case load?
8/ Astounds me the level of *proud* intellectual dishonesty among the Indian urban populace. OUR actions-- our friends, our communities, our religions, our businesses-- break rules constantly, we curse and flout the government guidelines, and then we blame others for it?
8/ No. This time even the most corrupt, skinflint babu is not responsible. YOU are. *You* are the only one shifting blame. No congress or BJP has tried to shift it back on you. They're all uncharacteristically simping right now when what most communities deserve is a tight slap.
9/ There is no data currently to show how and why the second wave started (the main places seemingly have little connection to any event, whether by muslims or hindus or farmers). But the center/states/population were aware and warned of the trend months ago.
10/ Yet we're supposed to take it as a foregone conclusion that it came from whatever people now claim it came from based on their weird agenda-addled politics and exploitation of other people's deaths?

I can't even blame media.
Zero honour or integrity, whether left or right.
11/ There is probably far, far worse than covid on the horizon. CoV is relatively mild. Imagine if Nipah had spread? This might be the only chance to figure out systems and processes that work-- even if you're developing it for profit. Humility and cooperation go a long way.
