Ignorant "Hindu" Butshikans-in-the-making have 0 knowledge, comprehension & insight. They don't know why Agama equated as Veda (Nigama). No conception of the 1-to-1 correspondence. Whereas this is well known in Actual Hindu tradition & its scholars from shruti & shAstras.
In India, mUrti & mandira making is orig & excl Vaidika. Non-Vaidika in India _inculturated_ (digestion) on this exclusively Vaidika tradition. YajanIya Devata literally means Devata invoked through yaj~na.

Hindus know very well to offer food etc to our Devas before we partake as prasada. Equivalent of homas, yajurveda.
We offer stotras & songs (folk or classical) as adorations of the Vaidika Devatas: the equivalent of Richas & Samans.
Offering flowers is Mantra puShpa from Veda.
All Hs (hunters/Vaidika ritualists) thus perform the Vaidika rites: acts of homa, stutis of praise as R^ichas, songs as sAmam, flowers/garlands as garlands of Vaidika Mantras.
Bhakti is Vedic: felt by R^iShis & avg H thus.

An acharya's summary of shilpa shAstras explains that MUrtis of the Vaidika Devatas are constructed based on R^iShis' direct darshanam (as they have divyachakShus): having full vision of the Vaidika Devatas, R^iShis captured the details of each yajanIya dEvata in dhyAna mantras.+

-yaj~nashAla/yaj~nya, which Are temples/moorties & rites, Are the Devatas themselves, their Own bodies. Hence VarAhamUrti (Hari avatAram) is known as yaj~nyAnga. Likewise Shivalingam is yaj~nya's Agni.
Our Nigama (Veda) and Vaidika Agama are not only equivalents and identical, Agama is used interchangeably with Veda as it's other name and means Nigama.
The words like stambha & area named for bali etc in mandira, come from yaj~nashAla too, and are Agama counterparts/equivalents of yaj~na.

It's why all Butshikans want to break our temple worship & our Agamic rites which are (of course) as strict as our Veda rites.
So Butshikans of all stripes try to stop mUrti pUja in our Vaidika temples & now even in our homes by trying to brainwash Hs into thinking mUrti pUja is unVaidika.
But Butshikans-to-be know 0 of Vaidika MArga. The Veda is Lived & Performed 1st-hand by all mUrti-worshipping Hs.
