Solidarity to ALL staff threatened by redundancy at Uni of Chester. Today I am joining #noredundancieschester online to show support. đź’Ş

I am a #PhDstudent at Chester and here is a thread of my uni experience:

@ChesterUcu
1.I chose Chester because the environment felt immediately inclusive. The English department were kind and considerate when dealing with my enquiries about doing a PhD. @UoCEnglish @ChesterUcu #noredundancieschester
2.They put me in touch with my AMAZING supervisor @EMMAREES.
3. @EMMAREES took time out of her hectic schedule to meet with me about my PhD application. As an undergrad at a different uni I NEVER received such attentive interest in my research ideas.
4. After my application process and interview I was kept in the loop by the English dept. and felt part of a team. #noredundancieschester @UoCEnglish
5.I made friends from the Institute of Gender Studies and the English Dept. My research is interdisciplinary and so the DIVERSE AND INCLUSIVE atmosphere at Chester is perfect. @ChesterUcu @UoCDiversity15 #noredundancieschester
6.Every tweet in this thread mentions how it is the STAFF at every level from application to supervision that have made my PhD possible. @ChesterUcu @EMMAREES @UoCDiversity15 @UoCEnglish #noredundancieschester
7.UoC, your postgrads are valuable and they are researching things that are going to make a HUGE difference to our world. You need them. And you can’t have them without STAFF supervision. @ChesterUcu #noredundancieschester
8.Overall, my EXCELLENT PhD experience so far at Chester could not have been the same without the STAFF. No member of staff is redundant. They are the vital cogs in the university machine.
