The Kane situation is kinda contradicting to me. I have my opinions divided on this [thread]
Firstly, the main motive of any competition is to win - be it any professional sport. When you plan before a game you don't think "how best can we have fun playing today" but you strategise to win every single game.
I do agree there's enjoyment outside of winning but ultimately the biggest moments and memories are from times when you lift a trophy with your club. Scoring is a great feeling but the night that your club win a trophy is something I feel like sticks with you forever.
But on the other hand, there's also a growing football nihilism that puts winning above everything else and dictates that the only value that can be found in the sport is in who holds ultimate bragging rights.
The problem I have with that attitude is that it denies the value of supporting the majority of clubs that ever exist, most of whom will never touch the highest honours of the sport.
Yes, Spurs do get meme'd a lot on this topic because we are expected to compete for trophies.
But there are at least 80 English teams who can only dream to be as "unsuccessful" as us. Most of them have 0 trophies since their existence. Some clubs don't even exist any more!

Kane will be more remembered as a Spurs legend than a lot of players will ever be for any other super club they join. Trophies are nice and I bet he would love to win some, but being a club's icon and symbol is definitely more valuable than a League Cup

I obviously cannot predict what goes in Kane's mind, but if he decides to leave I wouldn't mind that. He's been way too loyal to us already and Levy shouldn't block the move either if Harry does hand in a transfer request.
The next transfer window does not excite me whatsoever as Tottenham fan for that very reason. We've only regressed as a club since Dembele left us
