I have been silent for a few days but not anymore. It's about to get really political here so if this thread isnt what you signed up for when you followed me,I'm sorry.
Many of you may already know that I'm from India, and that currently India is dealing with another covid crisis
for the past 2 weeks if not more I have watched, read and heard people around me tirelessly using their platform to help strangers and friends find the right resources to deal with the situation we are currently in, taking on responsibilities that ideally weren't asked of them.
While our PM and govt bodies have been all talk and no action, our citizens have made it their mission to help curb the pandemic and fight as one, and I couldn't have been prouder to be part of a community that thrives with it's people.
Our Prime Minister addressed the whole country on April 21st, and shared no information on how his govt was planning to go ahead and bring resolution and resources out for their citizens. Instead he told us to take care of ourselves and be safe, which thank you but we knew
TW: death
my social media is flooded with people I know asking for resources like oxygen and ICU beds and the news of people passing away because they couldn't get care in time. We have mass graves and crematoriums, mass migrations and a high number of cases that we beat daily.
Hospitals in India are begging for oxygen supply and other resources to provide care for patients as we hit the world record for the highest daily rise for the third consecutive day. Meanwhile we have been globally handing out our vaccines and resources to other nations.
The govt already created mass chaos when they allowed a religious festivals celebration to occur at its usual magnitude despite the crisis. The handling of that situation in comparison to religious festival gatherings in 2020 is bizzare and speaks volumes. https://www.thequint.com/news/law/tablighi-jamaat-v-kumbh-mela-politics-of-selective-covid-policing
While we are hitting a shortage of vaccinations, the govt. has rolled out vaccines for the 18-45 age bracket from May 1st onwards. The shortage has affected many states and a large population of 45 y/o + citizens are still waiting for their second dose. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-56345591
We have had ministers almost openly bribing states election voters with vaccines pre-election.
The people we elected are using the pandemic as a ploy to get what they want instead of listening to and providing for those that elected them in the first place.
The citizens that are exhaustively building resource repositories for citizen usage are being treated like heroes, while they are a reflection of how we were driven to this point due to the lack of communication and aid from the people we elected and asked this of the most.
For my Indian mutuals and readers, here is an exhaustive list of local resources with State wise information as well. It is constantly updated and crowd sourced. https://twitter.com/tanejamainhoon/status/1385855931276136449?s=19
As and when I find more relevant sources and information, I will attach it to this thread. If you feel something is missing or should be added, feel free to let me know by dropping me a mesage or replying here so that I can add it to this list.
Please read, share, help and talk about the situation in India. Help us amplify our voice and reach those that can truly help us, we really need it.

If you made it up until here, thank you. Me, and many other Indian citizens like me truly appreciate your time, help and effort.
