Ep 1 — whoaaahh! that was intense! it was everything i imagined it to be! and The Fold! the way they brought it to life!

And MALINA!!! ahhhh! they are perfect! it’s only the first ep and malina moments make me tear up already! “i’ll find a way back to you!” oh Mal!!!!!

Keramzin! West/East Ravka!!! Perfect!

But the Crows! And Ketterdam! Still a lil bit skeptical of the storyline but i’m sensing it’s gonna be great! different, but great!

Ep 2 — The Darkling OW EM GEEE This role is made for Ben Barnes istg! also did i mention that i was team darklina in the first few chapters of book 1? lol

anyhoo, im kindga diggin this whole Six of Crows storyline! a lil different but gets you invested . will there be a wylan? prob not yet

also Nina and Mattias where are you!??!! and i definitely want to see Nikolai!!!

Ep 3 — Genya! She seems so regal and poised! Wow never expected it but even she is perfect! Loving her more than Genya from the book!

Then we get to see Nina and Mattias! waaah we’ll get to see what happened in thte wandering isle i presume? but they look so good together!

This Crows story is growing on me, it’s like another side of the story, like a bonus side and i’m here for it!

Oh Ravka! and the Little Palace! i’m finally seeing my imagination come to life! And zoya!!! wow!

and that train scene with the conductor was a great addition! Jesper the badass! for a secod there i thought he was gonna show his grisha power! but the thing with guns was also cool!

also, may i just add that the volcra looks so much like the demogorgons! maybe because it’s produced by stranger things’ shawn levy?

Ep 4 — Omg. The darkling is so gwapo bwiset. i felt the very same way about him both in the book and now as i watch the series. omg ben barnes!!!! waaah

also, i’m trying to watch it as slowly as i can coz i dont want it to end! coz if there would be season 2, it will be quite a while!

The blueprint heist - the crows make it look so easy!!! love it!!! can’t wait to actually see the Ice court heist someday!

Ep 5 — i love how they incorporate scenes from mal and alina’s past. i feel like it ties the whole series together, making it come full circle.

truth be told my memories about the events in the book are clouded with what im currently watching. now im confused which ones are true to the book and which ones are the alterations.

omg! end of ep5! now i’m anxious! where are they going with this shadow and bone x six of crows crossover??? their timelines should not have crossed yet! but??!!! what does this mean for the future of SoC??? and i want more nina and mattias!!!

Ep — 6 i find these grisha hand gestures a little bit ummm how do i say it, unnecessary? hehehe

finally, the nina and mattias scene i was waiting for!!!!!! waaaahhh

that heartwarming scene where mal and alina hugged for the first time since they were apart. there’s this sense of relief being in each other’s arms! waaah this was exactly how i felt while reading malina scenes in the book! they casted the perfect mal and alina!

wow i never knew we’ll get a kaz and darkling scene. pausing to type this tweet haha. this should be interesting

wait, i just remembered, are we getting a “Fine, make me your villain” scene???

these nina and mattias scenes are making me want to cry!!!! please dont give us scenes like these knowing... but also i want more of them too huhuhu

Ep 7 — lezzgoowww omg i dont know how this is gonna end. will they leave a cliffhanger for season 2????

Loving this Darkling backstory!

so so close to the ending!!!! im loving every minute of it!!!

also i realized nikolai won’t really be in this season coz he was only introduced in the second book. like duh. lol at me

omg! this post “the fold event” crew is making me emotional. alina, mal, kaz, jesper, inej, zoya! wow! if only nina and matthias were there!

i love what they made with nina and matthias’s backstory! they executed it perfectly and helped viewers understand how they came about and end up in ketterdam! and nina becoming a part of Kaz’s crew! genius!

just finished watching Shadow and Bone and boy, do I have thoughts! and feelings! but first of all, AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH THAT WAS SO DAMN GOOD!!!!!!!
I CAN’T F****N BELIEVE THEY MADE THE CROSSOVER WORK!!!!

so so proud of leigh and the showrunners eric h. and shawn L. for pulling this off!!! wow!!! so so proud to be a fan of the books, and now fan of the series too!

with all the hype behind the books, it must have put a lot of pressure on how the viewers will take the series. for readers and nonreaders alike. but personally, i think they really did a good job! and mind you, combining the 2 books was a big risk!

some critics find it lackluster.i get it, there will always be details from the book that will get cut, &some parts of the story will be completely modified.but the important thing is that the essence of the world leigh has created remains the same. that’s how i felt about it.

i’m rereading my tweets and i never typed Ep 8! must have been so engrossed to care! lol but i’m happy to be tweeting as i was watching, helps me remember how i felt at the exact scene or moments.

my favorite part? tbh, i can’t pinpoint. but what stood out to me was the darkling and alina’s conversation by the fountain. i think it was so pure and a turning point for alina.

also, i have loved nina and matthias in the books so obviously i love how they showed their history. im grateful for that!

but the Malina scenes! ahhhhh i loved them but not as much as i loved them in the books! i guess it has something to do with limitations to the series?? and i guess i wanted more??!!! hahaha

but still MALINA will always have a a special place in my heart. the orphanage flashback scenes really made a difference! and the “i’ll find my way back to you” and “meet me in the meadow” scenes killed me a hundred times over!

ok, i will never shut up about this! i think they did a good job featuring the grisha orders. it’s tough incorporating two worlds into 1(both S&B and SoC) but i think the subtle attempt of explaining the grishaverse thru bits &pieces was not overwhelming to a nonreader at all.

can i just put it out there? i didn’t really see how deep alina’s love is for mal, unlike in the books? is it just me? also, there was no love confession scene between them! i would have wanted just one special scene where they flat out admit their feelings for each other!

i wasn’t sure so i reread that part in the book just now. they kissed! mal and alina kissed just before the stag showed up! we were robbed of the MALINA kiss!!!

reading leigh’s writing again, how she curated the right words to let readers feel what Mal felt for alina that exact moment, how alina begged him to kill her instead of letting the Darkling control her..still heartbreaking to read

adaptations will always have feedbacks like “it felt sushed” or “not as good as the books”. it’s always gonna be there. and yes with S&B, some scenes felt like that too. like they were showing so little of that particular detail and then junping right to another scene

so yes, it’s not perfect but it’s so close that i feel like it might be THE BEST out there? hmmm i am so so excited for season2! which for sure will feature siege and storm! but i wonder what they’ll do with SoC part of the story though

i hope they come up with some genius plotline for the crows. i don’t mind seeing them separately this time, i mean with events happening in Ravka and the crows having their own thing in ketterdam.

it would be nice to see how they are as a Crow club, their operations and things like that before the big ice court heist.

i feel like this thread is never gonna end. haha will watch it again and maybe ill see details ive never seen before and will come back to this
