This is true.

Also hilarious that he plays such dirtbags when everything I've ever heard from any who've ever met him is what a kind, generous and awesome human he is https://twitter.com/scottEmovienerd/status/1386396589770559489
I think/hope the one story everyone knows is how as a former firefighter, that on 9/11 he showed up at his old firehouse and suited up because all hands were needed in NYC, and he's refused to interview/talk about it.

Frankly if he did nothing else he's gold for that.
And I had a friend in the military who worked in the pit the first 72 hours setting up communications.

He was dead w/in a year from a rare/weird spinal cancer.

Anyone/Everyone who went out that day knew how fucking dangerous it was. He was absolutely risking his life.
And for those wondering about my friend.

I don't know if there's ANYONE alive today who was doing the work he was, where he was. They were in the fucking pit, with fire and smoke, coordinating communications. There were probably at least 150 people exposed heavily ih that time.
So anyway, his back started hurting. He was a gamer and had also gained some weight.

So I started teasing him about it saying that's why his back hurt because he was getting fat, sitting around now getting FAAAAT. Just jokes not even slightly mean because who cares about that
Then he was out of town for some conference related to work (still military) and...it was like he had broken his back the pain was so intense.

They hospitalized and MRI'd him and found cancer in his spine. A rare, weird cancer that you see maybe 3x a year in old people.
And he was dead before that Xmas. He was trying to hold out for Xmas but died months before.

It was gruesome.

He has a building on a base named after him. FWIW. He'd have liked that tho.
And given the decade of hell some others went through BEFORE they died, I'm glad he went fast. As terrible as that sounds to say. He wasn't gasping for air for a decade while our govt ignored him or something like they did on others.
Anyhoo, now that I'm all deep in my feels, everyone but everyone who went to help that day was a fucking hero. IMHO.

And what a terrible day and days that was.
