I understand the anger and frustration from the students but them saying that the govt is not looking at at it from our point of view is not true. The fact is that the students are not looking at it from the govt’s PoV (1/6)

There are 85,000 cambridge students appearing this year while there are 4,000,000 appearing for the board exams in Pakistan.

If the 85k CIE students are given a free pass and the 4 million board students are not, it will be unfair to those 4m students. (2/6)

For the board students unfortunately the govt doesn’t have a mechanism in place to provide teacher assessed grades and if the 4m students are also given a free pass then how will merit based scholarships be distributed? How will university admissions work out? (3/6)
I know this a very tricky situation for both the govt and students and unfair to the students but unfortunately sometimes life is like that. We are in a once in a century crises so we have to try to work with the situation we have to the best of our abilities. (4/6)
My advice to the students would be to put your health above other things and defer the exams. An extra year or two might seem like a massive thing to you right now but trust me it will have no effect on your career in the long term. (5/6)
My own 5 year degree got extended to 6 years in Canada due to Covid, so trust me its not the govt’s fault its just how the situation is all over the world right now. (6/6)
