well in a lot of ways NOMADLAND is the ultimate 2020 movie because it's about white people pretending to be poor when it suits them and then going on and on about how innovative, rebellious, inventive, daring, and brave they are while taking advantage of their privileges. #Oscars
NOMADLAND is the movie version of those articles that are like YOU'LL NEVER BELIEVE HOW THIS 25 YEAR OLD BOUGHT THEIR OWN HOUSE AND PAID OFF THEIR DEBT and then it's like "my dad gave me $100k so that was a great start." #Oscars
when Frances McDormand's sister gave her a big fat envelope full of cash and McDormand gave a long suffering sigh about it and then it fixed all her problems and the movie was like "don't we all have sisters with big fat envelops full of cash I felt my soul leave my body. #Oscars
when Frances McDormand's crush with a PhD who got to be a park ranger whenever he wanted invited her to live with him on his family's enormous ranch it was just SO relatable to all people living hand to mouth out of campers and vans. We can all agree on that! #Oscars
anyway if you want to see a smart, real, humane version of NOMADLAND, not one made by Martians who get big envelopes stuffed full of cash whenever they need, watch WENDY AND LUCY from Kelly Reichardt, one of America's greatest directors
