every day I look at out private youtube subscriptions and consider the various things we're all individually interested in, and I think.... maybe we *should* have separate social medias... but at the same time I know if we did that we would trigger the fuck out of each other.
We had to stop using and delete the others' tumblrs because if one of our littles wanted to use the agere one after someone else, they ran the risk of severe triggers. Even now, if we made multiple twitters, eventually one of us would start using it in ways that harmed others.
We allow a few of us who want to, to follow or watch specific creators others of us dislike/are triggered by (like the infamous EC). But I guess it bothers people who follow us that we were following EC, so we decided to unfollow her on twt.
But I'm not about to force the others to stop watching her or deny them access to her content based on my own feelings because doing that in the past with other things has repeatedly blown up in our face in a BIG way.
So the alternative and safest option for us, to respect each other as well as to avoid triggering each other, is to not put up those kinds of barriers. So, if you personally feel that watching creators means you support [all] their behavior... go away. please.
Because not only are you wrong, and not only do I not care about your opinions in favor of protecting my own self and system, but you're also fucking wrong lmao
if you're going to judge me and my system solely by the people we collectively follow on this particular social media platform, then I suggest you just leave my alone entirely bc that level of giving a fuck about people I don't know on twitter is too much for me.
Like did you go through the trouble of unfriending everyone you know who's read the Twilight saga too? Are we going to start cancelling people if we spot the Harry Potter book series on their bookcase? Anyone who enjoyed the MCU movies?
as much as i appreciate not giving our business to people who suck........... why do we just give extra love to people we like instead? Because I dislike content by every creator of said content I've mentioned so far in this thread. I've also paid for a lot of it.
I enjoyed a lot of it too. I still dislike it though. People are allowed and able to do that. It's pretty normal to have nuanced feelings about creators and their content.
What's not normal to assuming other people have to feel the exact same way about a creator or their content that you do, and to then feel that your opinion is so correct that other people shou'd abide by YOUR opinions.
"It's not my OPINION that they're a bad person, they've done-" no but it IS your opinion that people should completely disengage with any content by a person who turns out to be a bigot or a bastard in some fashion or another.
To an extent I agree. And to another extent I disagree. Yanno, because people are nuanced and that's normal. Anyway, as much as I appreciate being informed about creators who are BIGOTS, please mind your own following list wrt to mentally ill creators and leave me alone abt mine.
