Been thinking a lot about the many sisters who are struggling to hold onto their faith, often struggling to reconcile their negative experiences, often, at the hands of Muslim men vs. Islam.

May Allah allow our hearts to be turned to goodness always.
I have felt upset and angry this ramadan. I feel upset when I go to the mosque, seeing men take up space in the sisters side and relegating us to the later prayer.
I felt a sadness seeing a new mother with her tiny baby, despite how late the second one finishes. And her talking to someone about how coming in the weekdays is too late for her. May Allah reward her for her efforts.
I feel upset knowing my local mosque is fundraising for a refurbishment, knowing that it will be the brothers that benefit.

I think of the words I heard yesterday "someone's rights is someone else's responsibility" and time and time again we have people falling short for women
So many of these brothers will be the first to defend Islam to islamophobes telling them how Islam honours Muslim women. Yet do not bat an eyelid when Muslim women's rights and dignity are encroached on from so many angles.
