When I was a kid, after my parents bought are 1st house in Tx, we tried to adopt a dog. The shelter wouldn’t let us bc we didn’t have a fenced backyard. My parents couldn’t afford to fence the backyard at the time, so they took us down to the local pet store.
We got a SetterX puppy on sale for $29.99. He was ugly as sin and waaaaay too high energy. But we walked him 4x/day and he spent after school-dinner inside with the family. I taught him to jump “courses”. We eventually fenced the yard. We continued walking him as we had been.
Prince lived a very happy life and was humanely PTS at 11.

Would he have thrived being someone’s gun dog? Absolutely. Was how we kept him even close to abuse? No.

My point is- there are lots of ways to care and maintain animals. Perfect doesn’t exist; we’re all doing our best.
Some of y’all need to listen more and some of y’all need to get off your high horses.

No one has all the answers and anyone convinced that their way is the only “right” way, probably isn’t worth listening to.
*except for turnout. Your need to turnout every fucking horse in some way shape or form.
