Danny Green, The Perfect 3 and D Guard (Thread) 🎥:
Danny Green has had a long and successful career on many different teams, but what made his game so good?
Danny Green stands at 6’6 with a 6’10 wingspan. This large frame and long arms along with his off ball awareness helped him be one of the best rim protecting guards in the game.
Green was a great close out defender, able to get to the perimeter in time to alter shots and prevent open 3’s.
Green made great defensive rotations and was always active off ball making him able to disrupt plays from anywhere on the court.
Danny Green had great hands and was able to poke balls lose and force turnovers but not foul at an excessive rate.
These forced turnovers often resulted in transition points. Helping the Spurs offense with his elite defense.
Green was also one of the best transition defenders in the league, great at getting back to disrupt plays and prevent easy buckets for the opponent.
Danny also used his off ball awareness and wingspan to intercept passing lanes.
On top of his elite off ball and team defense, Danny Green was a good on ball defender who was able to stay with his man and force bad shots.
Green was also a good offensive player. He was a great off ball player and moved around constantly to find open shots.
He was an elite shooter able to catch and shoot 3’s at an elite level shooting 45.5% on 5.4 3PA at his shooting peak.
Overall Danny Green was an elite guard defender and a good shooter on offense which made him one of the best 3 and D guards in the league. Perfect for any team.
