Who's up for more #Oscars outfits as images from the ancient world?

First up is double nominee Leslie Odom Jr.

His gold Brioni ensemble reminds me of this gilded statue of King Tutankhamun hunting on a papyrus skiff, from his famous tomb.
#Oscars nominee @emeraldfennell, director of #PromisingYoungWoman, is ready for spring in bright florals.

Her outfit might've taken inspiration directly from ancient Roman frescoes! These garden frescoes hail from Pompeii's House of the Golden Bracelet.
#Oscars nominee Glenn Close's cobalt outfit is reminiscent of "cage cup" from Montenegro.

This late-antique vessel contains an outer shell just barely attached to the glass beneath.

This cup is currently in Pljevlja; its inscription reads "For good life of Panelleni"
LOVING superstar Regina King's ensemble for #Oscars .

The exaggerated shoulders and silver accents remind me of the (recreated) walls of this fantastic frieze. It depicts a mythical winged aurochs.

The glazed frieze hails from Persian King Darius I's palace at Susa.
Update: whether or not it's an aurochs, griffin of some sort, or unicorn (?) is up for debate. Regardless, it's mythologically fun
The sweep of #Oscars nominee Carey Mulligan's gold skirt might have been modeled on this ancient Egyptian golden mollusk shell pendant.

The 2nd-millennium BCE pendant sits in the
@metmuseum; it hails from the important funereal site of Lisht.
#Oscars Best Original Song nominee Tiara Thomas looks stunning in white.

The voluminous folds of her jacket reminded me of the flowing gown of priestess and quene Ahmose-Nefertari, wife to Egypt's Ahmose I.

She was also worshipped with her son at the village of Deir el-Medina
#Oscars nominee Amanda Seyfried is radiant in red. Her dress' bright color and her updo remind me of this ancient Greek intaglio of Medusa in the @metmuseum
Laura Dern is fantastic in feathers for the #Oscars .

She's fully channeling this mosaic from the Sicilian Villa di Casale. It features workers unloading ostriches from a boat
Margot Robbie's shimmering #Oscars gown might've been modeled after this ancient Egyptian jar. Think I'm lying? Take a look at this speckled diorite Early Dynastic beauty in @britishmuseum....
Olivia Colman's red #Oscars gown is a classic. How so? It reminds me of this dancer's dress from the Etruscan Tomb of the Lionesses at Tarquinia. Looks like it's dancing time!
The shape of Halle Berry's lovely purple #Oscars gown and her newly-trimmed hair remind me of an ancient
mosaic.

From Edessa in Turkey, it depicts the Amazon queen Melanippe in full battle regalia and wearing a sweeping cape
Also, look at the drapery and folds at the waist! Elegance then and now
