At this particular moment in my life I need the ocean. It has always been a place where I feel free and liberated. No barriers, no bounds.
Also, it is great to lay everything out at the sea while paying homage and gratitude to the ancestors who came before and will come after you. The sea is the place of humble beginnings.
I also can’t help but think to the ways the ocean, and its essence has pervasively inhibited my life. The sea has become this portal into a world unbeknownst to me that I am only starting to understand, yet will never fully comprehend its relationality to my life.
The spirits that walk with me, the matrilineal assemblage of maternity, motherhood has been born from the seas as they gather beside me as I walk this life. So I can’t help, but to acknowledge the mothers of my ancestral-spiritual line who have fought for me to be here.
Which is to say that those spirits - both living and passed away - are revered and honored. There are even points in my life where I must return to them to regain a sense of unification and alignment.
Yet in the same breath I say that my life *is* water. It constantly takes shape and reinvents itself: moving, ebbing, wading, and thrashing to new lands and territories. Fitting and disrupting space and area to create anew in place of outdated technologies and thinking.
Water is what takes up the form of my zodiac (Scorpio). Though it’s not the grand picture, however, it does contend to exemplifying the ways in which I communicate, believe in, construct, move, and transmigrate my bodies across barriers and broken doors. Constant death + rebirth.
I don’t know where this thread sprouted from or where the words to transmute my story arose. However, I will say that water is life sustaining not only in the material sense but in the transcorporal-spiritual space as well.
Return to it when necessary, talk to it when needed, but overall, respect it as it has sustained you since your inception on this earth.
