I& #39;ve watched something yesterday that urged me to speak up, especially in a day such as today. For those who are not from Portugal, they are most likely unaware that we celebrate Liberty Day today. A dictatorial regime was brought to an end. It was the Carnation Revolution. [1]
The thing I saw, and that I was stupidly ignorant about is the dreadful situation that Myanmar https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🇲🇲" title="Flagge von Myanmar" aria-label="Emoji: Flagge von Myanmar"> is in. They too have fallen victims of a military coup that is ravaging the people they swore to protect. [2]
How come I hardly see anyone rallying for justice for their cause? Probably because they are a "small", "insignificant" country in the grand scheme of things. If this happen here today, I wonder if we too would be left to deal with it ourselves. [3]
To fend against the full force of violent puppets with weapons. I know I won& #39;t make much of a difference by saying this. But I was made aware of the depth of this problem and it hurt. Especially on a day like today. The 25th of April, our dear Liberty Day. https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🇵🇹" title="Flagge von Portugal" aria-label="Emoji: Flagge von Portugal">[4]
If you find yourself in a position that can raise awareness or can help boycott the Myanmar military forces, I& #39;d urge you to do so. So that Democracy can keep being celebrated across more parts of this world. #FREEMYANMAR [end of thread]
