Thinking about this Heat team and the only three times I felt they were special this year was that revenge game against the Bucks without Jimmy. The game in LA where they comfortably beat the Lakers (without AD) in LA. And their incredible win against Utah playing their best

The two close games against the Nets without Jimmy felt like it mattered and the loss against the Celtics early felt good. The rest has been a mixed bag of eh or wins that didnt feel like wins.

There is a lot to this

• Dragic has no rim pressure anymore
• Herro has had a bad shooting season
• Health has been disastrous

I think Jae’s absence is overstated because Ariza has been awesome. They sured up a good backup big in Dedmon and Andre has give them a lot

Their offense is in the toilet and their defense has slipped since Dipo went down (15th in that stretch)

They look out of gas all the time. They have nothing thay works consistently outside of Duncan flying off hand offs or pindowns and Jimmy being God. They are missing Dragic

Nunn has been really good for them, especially as a spot up shooter but their defense tanks when he is in and thats part of why their slippage started when Dipi went down. But they have no choice he is their best guard rn

Jimmy has looked not as good as he did in Feb/March and thats fine but thats part of you depending on him for everything. He is running out of gas and they need every ounce of it on both ends. His work as a helper and in the nail is critical to their defense and he looks tired

This season, the Heat are -6 NetRtg when Jimmy sits and +5 Net when he plays

Last season? +5 NetRtg when he played and -0.30 when he sat

That right there. Is the season. They cant survive without him

Bam has legit been outstanding this season

Practically 20/10/5 on 56% shooting with a DPOY candidate season on defense

Heat are +0.1 NetRtg in Bam mins without Jimmy and tbh thats not good enough, but not totally his fault when his guards cant pocket pass

Its hard for me to think they can win two playoff series. I still think they are better than the Knicks, Celtics the Hawks but thats not saying much since those teams arent good either

Maybe if they draw the Bucks and have a lights out shooting series they can do something? Idk

Betting on them to magically figure out over night seems silly because a lot of their issues are guys aging and a young player struggling. Maybe Tyler figures it out but I dont see Goran getting his burst back

If Oladipo can come back its a different story but we are running out of time because he looked like a mess on offense here before he went down. This is it, three weeks left. There is no more time
