In Nigeria today there are groups of selfish people who knowing they will never be affected by the instability and division their activities could potentially create selfishly stoke identity politics and self aggrandizement at the detriment of the people.
Reno Omokri, a former aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan has challenged the army to eliminate Boko Haram in the same manner they killed IPOB commander Ikonso. A classic example of stoking ethnic tensions anomosity. These online Robin Hood wannabees play on the ignorance
..of a large segment of the masses. To insinuate the Nigerian military is playing favouritism in favour of Boko Haram. Comparing Boko Haram/ISWAP an ISIS affiliate group that was not long ago rated the deadliest terrorist organisation in the world, whose base of operation
..is not in Nigeria, .to IPOB is the most asinine statement i have heard.

Recall that the IPOB commander Ikonso and six other fighters were killed during an early morning raid. Mind you this happened the very same day the Nigerian army killed 37 insurgents and recovered..
..arms and vehicles from the insurgents: Reno Omokri's statement:

QUOTE

Can’t Nigeria’s Army also take out leaders of Boko Haram the same way they took out ESN leader, Ikonso? Or are they only strong when it comes to ESN, and weak when it comes to Boko Haram,?

END OF QUOTE
These are the words of a selfish self aggrandizing and vengeful individual merchandizing on the mysery of people. People like Omokri are no different than France. Their business model is centered around the strife and general instability of the nation.
A peaceful and stable Nigeria is bad for business. How else will he be a "Buhari Tormentor" and online Robin Hood if there is an end to the unrest? He will be a bad business man if the ethnic animosity and tensions end. Hence he will continue stoking division division.
On his claim. Both IPOB and Boko Haram have been designated as terrorist groups by the Federal Government. Drawing a parallel between both groups is beyond ridiculous. First of all if Shekau was in Nigeria he would probably have been dead long ago. He was crippled
..by a NAF airstrike and has been holed up in the Lac Province affer having a mental breakdown. Heck he released an audio tape crying to the god he serves that people are after his life. He lost it.

At its peak Boko Haram numbered between 15 to 20 thousand men.
They have heavy weapons, including artillery pieces. They have amoured vehicles, i suspect they have access to high fidelity intellligence ...via Reaper drones on Nigerian military positions (my opinion).
The war has taken on a regional dimension. They can call on support from other terrorist groups like ISIS, Tuareg and even al-Qaeda. They have publicly beheaded Nigerian soldiers and airmen. Trust me our troops have no lost love for these guys. While Reno is busy stoking tension
..the real Robin Hoods are out there. Little sleep, always on the alert. Insurgents carry out hit and run attacks and flee across the border to their safe havens. They just have to hold the forte until the arrival of the Super Tucanos and armed attack drones.
We must understand that the Nigerian military that for half a century primarily trains in conventional warfare is now faced with an unconventional threats, where the enemy is not organised and its threats are asymmetrical. troops had contend with equipment and training received
..for conventional warfare. Boko Haram has not held Nigerian territory since the end of 2016 when they were flushed out. Its 2021...five years have past but they are still nostalgic, longing for the glorious days when they controlled territory the size of Belgium.
They know those days are gone forever. Thats why you see each time they carry out attacks they have a media wing. They plant their flag, quickly take snapshots of it and upload. It matters not if they will be running towards the border to the safety of Lake Chad minutes later.
All that matters is that the image is uploaded on social media for dissemination. The neurotic media and critics take it from there. Some Nigerians do know better. Their ignorance is exploited by vendetta seeking activists who hope to secure thousands of dollars in grants.
These guys make a ton of money doing this..we talking about hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants by foreign interest groups. Reno himself has written two books and is working in his 3rd book.
However the most aggravating are foreigners in the West making a career out of the insurgency. They carry out so called "researches on the Boko Haram conflict". Some of them have written books on a country they have never stepped foot in.
Former President Goodluck Jonathan shocked me today with his comment. most. GEJ is Someone i respect and admire.

But he said Nigeria is where it is today because the leadership lacks ability and capability to deliver.
You know, this is sad. Between 2011 and 2014, Nigeria made more money during this period than at any time since the discovery of oil in this country. Oil prices stood well above the $100 per barrel mark. On a fiscal year Nigeria makes roughly between $80 to $100 billion a year.
Budgetary allotment is pegged around $60 per barrel in oil prices. At the begining of his tenure oil prices skyrocketed, fluctuating to between $100 to $150 per barrel. Nigeria was making roughly $350 billion a year. Never in our history has the the government raked in so much.
We were spending close to $5 billion on defence. This does not include an extra $1 billion strictly to buy bullets. We spent $300 million buying defective second hand T-72M tanks from the Czech Republic with no spare parts. The NAF was on the verge distinction. Not a single
..fixed wing aircraft was aquired. Boko Haram had Nigerian troops on the defensive. They controlled an area the size of Belguim, encompassing 17 LGAs
The National Security Adviser alone embezzled $2.7 Billion meant for the procurement of weapons to support our troops.

The Nigerian military today is unrecognizable. They not only took back all captured territory within 5 months, they flushed out BHT from the Sambisa
At $24 pb we've aquired 3rd gen tanks, 4th gen jets, advanced armed attack drones, self propelled artillery, tank destroyers. We have a Cyberwarfare Command, Defence Space Administration..the list is endless. Never in history has the Nigerian military been this equiped.
