Head of the Hamas political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, during an electronic seminar on the events in Jerusalem:

"What is happening in Jerusalem is part of a strategic political context and not a gift separate from the general context.

There is no calm with the occupation if the aggression against Jerusalem continues. We are facing a new chapter and a historic and pivotal moment. We will continue the path and we will not be satisfied with a limited-time gift, and we must prepare for that.

Our people will confront everything the occupation is doing and what it is planning to Judaize inside the Holy City, and the confrontation will be in a wider context, and our decision is to continue.

The resistance today is stronger than it was, and our satiety is determined to continue regardless of the sacrifices, and this is our covenant and our charter, and we are facing a new wave on the 28th of Ramadan after the threat of storming Jerusalem, which is a pivotal day, and

we will not surrender and will not retreat, and the gift of Jerusalem must continue.

Jerusalem is not alone and will not be, Gaza is present with its resistance and missiles to protect our people in the blessed Al Aqsa."
