"Have you seen that Express is rebroadcasting one of your Euronews interviews?" @RobHarrison_EU asked me earlier
"What?" I replied
And so they are... here I am saying there is "fear in Brussels at the moment" in a clip on the Daily Express site

The story is titled "Brussels chaos: UK tells EU it's all set for WTO rules as Australia deal gives huge boost" and is dated yesterday, Saturday 24 April
I have never even spoken to Euronews about the EU-Australia trade deal
The story by @DavidPBMaddox https://www.express.co.uk/news/politics/1427542/Brexit-trade-deals-Australia-trade-eu-latest-boris-johnson?jwsource=cl

I have also looked at the code - the clip is not an embed of video from somewhere else. The file is hosted by The Express
Perhaps one for @euronews to follow up there...
But there's more...

So what *is* the clip they are using?
It's an interview I did with @jackeparrock on

8th February
It's almost 10 weeks old!

And the subject of my interview?

The setting up of the Conference on the Future of Europe, something that has *nothing to do* with a UK-Australia deal, Brexit or WTO rules

I cannot find the original video on the Euronews website, but the exact same words I speak in the clip the Daily Express uses are written up in this article by Euronews https://www.euronews.com/2021/02/07/juncker-calls-for-eu-austerity-rethink-as-maastricht-treaty-turns-29
So a 10 week old clip, about a completely different topic, is used in a Daily Express story, and the key words they choose are "at the moment"
I'm loathe to use the term normally, but there's only one way to describe this: fake news
