Satomi autismfication NOW

Um where to start...I’ll start with when she would’ve gotten her ASD diagnosis, which was actually after she dropped out of college, as she was in therapy for depression, but there was something underlying that, turns out it was autism LAWL

Like oh you are depressed because you’re isolated from your peers and cannot begin relationships with them? That’s ASD/NT miscommunication causing depression

When they told their parents, their parents weren’t exactly surprised, as it was a good explanation for why their child preferred to be alone when other child would want to play with their friends when Satomi was younger, or why Satomi didn’t spend much time with them either

With this new knowledge, Satomi was now in a state of “oh I was on hard mode this whole time? Makes sense.”

Now for her behaviors and such, Satomi is almost hyper-empathetic, and would have intense emotional reactions to more mundane things, like if someone was crying to her she’d cry too, if someone was mad she’d get mad with them

She’s generally well meaning but lacking in many friends, still inappropriately outpouring her interests to her coworkers when given the chance or not understanding how NT conversations work entirely, making her seem ‘childish’ to them, leaving her like “:( wtf did I do wrong”

Because of this, her relationships with her few friends are strong ones, either people who understand ASD, are ND themselves, or something similar, ie Sasha, a man with BPD, who Satomi assumed to be autistic and was on a mission to make her new best friend

As for like sensory issues, I’d say she’s more light sensitive then anything, opting for night shifts for that and less interaction with people who don’t like her, or her volunteer work at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, since she likes marine sciences but also it’s dark as hell

For hyperfixations, well, heh, Godzilla/Mothra has them by their balls, but Satomi is also big into Pokémon and marine biology/botany, which is what they majored in in college

As for stims, she ops for things less noticeable while in public as to not draw a lot of attention, like tapping a foot/finger or playing with a pen, but just does what ever in the privacy of her home

Her apartment has like blackout curtains and is probably lit more by windows and lamps rather than the actual lights
