There are a lot of lists going around: 8 ways of looking at Murakami, 12 ways of looking at Hitchcock. My own contribution might be four ways of watching the MCU. Begin from this position: There are currently 23 films in the MCU & all watched in close succession might wear. (1/?)
The creators have made earnests efforts to keep things fresh, but lets face it: out of 23 films, maybe 21 end with a big CGI fight in which the outcome is a foregone conclusion. That's fine! Taken individually. All together, it might actually damage one's affection for the series
Best then, to follow a narrower path. For example: one could follow the comedic strain, which probably looks like
IRON MAN
AVENGERS
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY
ANT MAN
THOR: RAGNAROK.
That would make a good weekend film festival.
Or one could look at the films that tackle more serious themes. That's:
IRON MAN
CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER
AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR
AVENGERS: ENDGAME
FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER
Plenty of wit in these films and serious stuff in the first list but the point stands.
One could watch the groundbreakers, the films that broadened what Marvel films could be.
IRON MAN
AVENGERS
BLACK PANTHER
SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER VERSE
WANDAVISION
By now you've noticed I'm cheating by mixing in TV shows and stuff like Spiderverse, but go with me.
Or one could follow Tony Stark, Steve Rogers, Bucky Barnes, Sam Wilson, Thor, etc. Tony & Steve might have the most satisfying character journeys, although Sam Wilson is right behind them now. Personally I think a Stark-fest could be a great way to re-experience the MCU.
