personally, as a californian enby, i use "dude" in a gender neutral way because goodburger (he's a dude, she's a dude, they're a dude, we're all dudes) &i would rather be called "dude" than be misgendered, but i also understand & respect those who don't think it's gender neutral!

(this is why i go by they/dude, if it wasn't clear before; "siya" is the only pronoun in tagalog, my first language.)
