These one-sentence summaries of "cancelations" never hold up to any scrutiny.

First, this is not a case of a teacher accidentally using the wrong pronoun for a student. This is a teacher who explicitly refused.
Second, the teacher singled out the trans student for differential treatment, something that would have increased his likelihood of experiencing bullying from other kids.
After being misgendered, the student asked the teacher to maybe give him a fucking break. The teacher refused.
It also turns out that the teacher was misgendering the trans student to his classmates.

This was in clear violation of school policy, but administrators gave the teacher repeated warnings and the opportunity to comply. Again he refused.
Here's the one-sentence summary again. This implies some sort of witch hunt, that teachers are being sacked for accidentally saying "her" instead of "him" a single time.
As usual, that's not remotely what happened and it's unethical to pretend otherwise.
The entire "cancel culture" panic is built on anecdotes like this: One-sentence summaries of complex cases deliberately truncated to make left-wingers seem as unreasonable as possible.

Here's the Harper's letter from last summer. Guess what, these don't hold up either.
