The introduction of @RFL fees for junior players and volunteers from 2022 looks like it will unfortunately bring an end to the provision of free rugby league to kids in North-East Lincolnshire.

To say we're devastated and angry would be an understatement.

We have provided free access to play rugby league for over 10 years now - we feel so passionately about this, it is written into our constitution.

We aim to help kids discover the joys and benefits of team sport and our great game, irrespective of ability to play or pay.

We are a development club in a non-RL area, run by volunteers, who from next year will have to pay for the privilege of giving up their own time.

Over the past 10 years we have introduced hundreds to the game - 18 so far this season - through club/volunteer led promotion.

This recruitment will slow down next year. Junior numbers will reduce. Volunteers may be lost. Hopefully clubs will not.

There are valid questions raised - How should we fund the community game? What benefits will community clubs see from these fees?

Whatever your viewpoint - whether you agree or disagree - please take 5 minutes to complete the RFL survey (link below) and express your thoughts in the comments box at the end (questions can be left blank).
